SKINBIOTHERAPEUTICS PLC SELECTS DATITUDE AS ITS DATA PARTNER FOR A FOOD SUPPLEMENT HUMAN STUDY

Adding to its roster of clients in the life science space, Datitude is delighted to announce its latest client partnership with SkinBioTherapeutics Plc; a life science company focused on skin health. It’s proprietary platform technology, SkinBiotix® is based on discoveries made by Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Catherine O’Neill and Professor Andrew McBain at the University of Manchester. They’re working on some really exciting research exploring the relationship between the gut and the skin, and how the microbiome can influence the way the body functions.


The company has developed a blend of ‘good’ bacteria as a food supplement and is initially targeting the skin condition psoriasis and hopes the food supplement will help to manage the symptoms associated with this debilitating condition.


Due to the challenges of conducting human studies in clinics in a Covid-world, SkinBioTherapeutics intends to conduct a self-administered study directly with participants in 2021 as a quicker route to obtain results and potentially commercialise the product. Participants will be sent the food supplement to take and then log survey responses using a mobile app.

SkinBioTherapeutics has chosen Datitude to design and build the data solution to facilitate the analysis of significant data volumes generated from the study quickly, reliably and securely. Datitude will integrate data into its data warehouse and, create automated dashboards for both quantitative and qualitative analysis and visualisation of results. Secure access to the Tableau-based analytics platform will enable the team to access the data in real-time and carry out bespoke analysis quickly and easily.
