THE PROJECT

Margin Guardian’s retail data insights platform is a powerful tool for fashion retailers looking to identify trends and inform future pricing and discount pricing strategies. It provides unique data insights - including price intent, viewed, and saved, products – direct from consumers using the Squished Shopping App (also built by Margin Guardian). Squished is a multi-faceted app that enables consumers to browse, track and monitor high street fashion items on a single app. App users can choose to add products to a wishlist, “squish” the price to receive a price drop alert and visit the product page to purchase directly from the retailer’s site.

 

Margin Guardian chose Datitude to build a data lakehouse and advanced data analytics solution to transform the data from the Squished Shopping App into sophisticated and interactive visualisations and insights in Margin Guardian’s retail data insights platform.

 

Datitude’s data lakehouse integrates and unifies data from the Squished database (events, users, products, prices) into a central data repository and turns it into valuable intelligence, insight, and action with a powerful suite of dashboards in real-time. It means Margin Guardian’s fashion retail clients can quickly and easily access and visualise the data insights, including how they compare against key competitors. They benefit from a rule builder so they can send notifications to Squished users based on their product interest or price intent; brilliant for marketing communications in real-time. Naturally, retailers can easily track referrals from the Squished App and associated campaign performance through Google Analytics.
